The rough cut of the scroll. Once the turns are sunk slightly one can see the true line of the turns - then adjust
where necessary. The edges are then marked in by a mm to establish the chamfer line. Some tooling marks left on can look ok
or it can be scraped very clean. Its a personal preference.
