The bassbar of a De Salo model viola. The bar is set at a very slight angle to the line of the plate
and at the bridge foot position is approx 1.5mm inside of the bridge foot. The width of a bridge - usually between 46 and 50
on a viola, is determined by the bar position. This bar was cut from this actual spruce wedge - since the grain is quite open on the piece
I left the bar 0.5mm deeper than I nornally cut.
