Testing varnish samples. The weights are approx 300 gms - sort of the weight imparted onto a cloth of a violin laying on its back.
Its my basic 'sticky test' - not exactly scientific, but the weights are interesting. The glass is an optic from a submarine periscope( my Dad's story)
and the two bronze bearings are British Seagull outboard gearbox pinion bushes !
